Dr. Okonkwo Ngozi Stellamaris is a highly accomplished Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with over 20 years of experience in delivering exceptional women’s healthcare. She is widely respected for her expertise in maternal health, reproductive medicine, and advanced minimally invasive surgical procedures.
She is currently a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Mother and Child Hospital, where she provides comprehensive care to women at all stages of life, from antenatal care to complex gynecological treatments. Her areas of expertise include antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care, high-risk pregnancy management, gynecological surgery, minimal access (Laparoscopic) surgery, family planning, reproductive health and women’s preventive healthcare.
Dr. Okonkwo has an outstanding academic and professional background, including Fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS), Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCOG), Fellowship & Diploma in Minimal Access Surgery (FMAS, DMAS) at the World Laparoscopy Hospital, India, Master of Health Science (Population & Reproductive Health) and MBBS from the University of Ibadan MBBS, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Trials from the University of London.
She is an Associate Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (UK), a Member, Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Nigeria (SOGON) and Member of the World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons. Dr. Okonkwo has received several awards for academic excellence and research contributions, including the Best Scientific Presentation at the SOGON International Conference and the Best Master’s Poster Presentation at the University of Ibadan.
